I enjoy iddy-nibbles and biddy-bites. My cuisine-du-preference would be a sumptuous snack platter any day over an opulent, several course meal. Maybe that’s why I have grown so fond of my Twitter; it feeds my inner-snackdom. Sure, I indulge in the big blogs and rich articles featured all over the web but those take time and space both of which seem to be hard to find these days. In 140 characters or less, I can share my latest and greatest happenings and see what my communities of peeps are twittering about. It’s my virtual snack platter for the news, discourse, events and discussions that I am interested in following.

The platform engenders certain creativity in its brevity as well as allows users to engage in earnest or leisure depending upon the desired needs from the platform. In his article titled, “The Rise of Twitter as a Platform for Serious Discourse,” Josh Catone of ReadWriteWeb comments,

Twitter is fast becoming a serious platform for discourse and discussion. More than a status app, it is being used as a first alert mechanism for the dissemination of news and for immediate discussion surrounding that news. It is the coverage of news events and the continued emergence of citizen journalism that will push Twitter toward the mainstream this year.

If you have yet to taste this addictive culinary delight, it’s never too late to try the sweet-tweet that is Twitter. So, what are you doing?
