I stumbled across an interesting conversation stream today on the micro-blogging community Kwippy courtesy of @Robin who asked, “What do you use to keep all your stuff organized? I mean, bookmarks, snippets, wish lists, pics, mindmaps, scans, and all other stuff.” I love this question! And I do believe it's inspired this here blog post about organizing your social media streams. Since I am a Web-Two-Point-OH and Beyond junkie, I tend to use a myriad of social platforms to bookmark my interests, favs, inspirations, platforms I want to review, groovy products and tools to test, awesome artists, music, vids etc... Depending upon the platform and the community around me, I will post accordingly i.e. Fuzz.com is a place I post musical favs, blogs and related news. StumbleUpon is sort of my catch all bookmarking site as is Facebook. I have all my social bookmarking activity all aggregating through my Facebook profile: Mixx, Digg, Stumble, SocialMedian and more.... Finally, I use the easy-breezy Google bookmark toolbar to bookmark my "look at today" lists. These will often be article inspirations and ideas for possible blog posts. Why do I organize all this? 1) To offer something of value to my online friends and connection be they news, information, music, art or cool stuff 2) I am always on the lookout for a hot story lead or blog post idea 3) I'm not entirely sure why I do any of this except that it's super fun and maddeningly addicting! You would hope with all these social streams, there’d be a simple and easy way to streamline your social, personal, and business activities online but such streamlining seems to be left up to the fingers and mouse of the beholder.
Never the less, here are some online tips, tricks, and services you may want to checkit’ if organization is on yo’ brain: Bookmarking sites: Social media aggregator and your personal online content library: Collaboration, storing & sharing files online: Online Backup: Securely Store Passwords:
