Loaded question I know..." Well... I think we have to monetize it at least to the point where the people putting up these community sites can afford to keep them up and running. You're right about breaking the monopoly of big media, the other side is that, instead of having 2 or 3 sources to doubt the veracity/honesty of, we now have hundreds (or more.)
